Dear friends and family,

We hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays and time with friends and family. For us, this year Christmas was particularly fun since Callie could unwrap and play with her gifts!
Since some of you may have been extra busy last month and not been able to read our newsletter, we just wanted to remind you that we have switched mission boards from Bridging the World to Gospel Mission of South America. The whole change over went smoothly and there is much more information on our web site about the new mission.
Because of our change to a new mission board, we have a new "job description." Gospel Mission of South America, or GMSA, has an existing camp in Paysandu, Uruguay, which we visited on our trip in February 2007. The camp director stepped down, December 2007, to pastor a church in Paysandu. Since then the Uruguay field director, Danny Vallett, has been filling in the position until another missionary was found. Yeah! You guessed it! That is us!
The camp was started about six years ago and already has a significant amount of work done. There are six cabins that can hold up to 20 children each or can be divided in half to house two families. The lodge is a house that can hold another 30 people. The dining hall is attached to a kitchen and is also doubled as the meeting room. There is a game room and a swimming pool with a bath house. The director's house was just built and is livable although it has some minor unfinished projects. And, finally, a maintenance building is currently under construction. You can see a satellite picture and other pictures of the property on our website. Currently the camp runs six weeks of programming and the rest of the year the facilities are rented out to local churches, schools and clubs.
Bruno starts his first online Bible classes with Liberty University today, January 12th. The first class is Old Testament History I and he would appreciate your prayers as he fits school in with work, missions, and our growing family this semester.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have about the transition.

In Him,

Bruno & Audrey Couto
